Summary: Fandom Christmas in July 2021 drabble: July 5 - prompt "Santa's Naughty List"
Rating: G
A/N - One of thirty-one prompts for the thirty-one days of July. I plan to fill as many of them as I can with two hundred word drabbles.
Just in Case
5. Prompt - Santa's Naughty List
Fandom – Cabin Pressure
Ship – Gen, all character friendships
Title – Just in Case
Of all the many, many bizarre things Martin had witnessed Arthur do in the eight months since he’d been hired by MJN, this had to be in the top ten. Perhaps the top five.
For the last week, every time Douglas mentioned one of his exploits from his days at Air England, Arthur would loudly proclaim, “But that was years ago, haha, and Douglas hasn’t done anything like that recently. Right, Douglas?”
And then, moments ago, when yet another of GERTI’s warning lights flicked on and several strong words poured from Martin’s mouth, Arthur had begun singing Jingle Bells at the top of his voice.
“What on Earth are you doing?” Martin asked, although he wasn’t sure he really wanted to know.
Arthur looked around rather nervously, then cautiously replied, “Trying to keep you off the naughty list.”
“It’s far too late for that, I’m sure,” Douglas drawled. “Who’s naughty list are we talking about specifically?”
“Santa’s.”
“Santa? Arthur, you do know…” Martin trailed off and looked to Douglas for help, suddenly unsure if Arthur did, in fact, know.
“Of course I do, Skip. I’m not a child.” Arthur looked around again and lowered his voice. “But just in case.”
