Summary: Woman or sea creature - did it really matter? Molly was as mysterious and beautiful as she was vicious; her very existence a scientific improbability. From the moment he saw her, his fate was set, Sherlock would never let a mystery remain unsolved.

A/N - If the first scene of this fic looks a bit familiar, it’s because I also posted it as part of my Universally Monstrous series. Those fics are all one shots on the shorter side, and this thing… this thing sort of ballooned on me.

At one point I posted that I was trying to come up with a plot that didn’t sound like a ripoff of “The Shape of Water” for the Creature from the Black Lagoon fic, but then [personal profile] sunken_standard left me a comment that has stuck with me ever since – “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, though. Let Molly bang the fishman.”

Then I remembered a made-for-cable-tv movie from 2001 called “She Creature”. When you mix that, “The Shape of Water”, and some Molly and Sherlock …

This fic is dedicated to you, [personal profile] sunken_standard.

Does it count as bestiality if someone is a gillman/sea creature? I don’t want to google that so let’s just pretend it doesn’t.

Summary: To his chagrin, it took Doctor Matthew Hooper more than a dozen interactions before he realized that the notorious Sherlock Holmes was not the man he pretended to be.
As a matter of fact, he wasn’t a man at all.

A/N - I started the Universally Monstrous series during 2018’s Sherlolly Halloween. I'm proud to say that all nine fics in the series have now been completed!

I’m going to try something new for me. Gender swapping! Say hello to TAB era Matthew Hooper and Williamina Scott (AKA Sherlock Holmes). Fingers crossed this works.

I should probably mention a warning for major character death. Sorry.

Universally Monstrous - The Bride of Frankenstein )
darnedchild: (Default)
Summary: “I think I’m looking at a fake, albeit a well-constructed one.” The Skipper huffed, but Sherlock ignored him. Surely the woman in the tank would need to surface soon, or risk betraying the presence of a breathing apparatus of some sort. His mind raced to calculate how long the average human female could survive without air before losing consciousness.

A/N - I started the Universally Monstrous series during 2018’s Sherlolly Halloween, but I’ve only managed to finish six so far. Let’s see if I can get the other three done for 2020 Sherlolly Halloween.

The fic below started as the first scene of a longer story that I’m hoping to finish in time for Halloween. Fingers crossed.

Universally Monstrous - The Creature from the Black Lagoon )

Summary: As much as it pained her to admit, the reason Molly Hooper had been anticipating the current edition of The Strand was because of Doctor Watson’s latest venture in heavily embellished storytelling. Normally, she would hardly deign to give the tales of Holmes’ fantastical detective work a passing glance, but something about The Hound of the Baskervilles drew her interest.

I am aware that “The Hound of the Baskervilles” was originally serialized in The Strand Magazine in late 1901 to early 1902. TAB does mention “the dog one”, but it does it at the wrong point in the timeline for my needs. Basically, I want to use “The Hound of the Baskervilles” for my own nefarious purposes; so screw real life and show canon, I do what I want.

Universally Monstrous - The Wolf Man )

Summary: Dreams. Fevered, erotic, all consuming. A woman whose beauty takes his breath away. Sherlock doesn’t ever want to wake up.

Everything that Kills Me )

Summary: “This is the strangest thing I have ever seen,” John marvelled.

“Haven’t seen,” Sherlock corrected.

A/N - I started the Universally Monstrous series during last year’s Sherlolly Halloween, but due to health reasons I only finished three of the nine Classic Universal Monsters. I finished Frankenstein earlier in 2019, so let’s see if I can get the other five done for 2019 Sherlolly Halloween.

Not beta’d because I’m on a deadline. I’ll get it looked at later, promise. Probably.

A/N - This fic is inspired by a moodboard created by [profile] mel_loves_all for the 2018 Sherlolly Halloween, which—in turn—had started as a prompt offered by me (from the lyrics of “Counting Stars” by OneRepublic) when Mel was looking for some inspiration last year. We’ve come full circle, friends.

I’ve included a link to [profile] mel_loves_all’s original moodboard post on Tumblr (CHECK AO3), if you’d like to leave some love there.

Sherlolly Moodboard #2 - Created by [profile] mel_loves_all

[profile] mel_loves_all's notes about her edit - “Original Prompt: from [personal profile] darnedchild (Everything that kills me makes me feel alive)

**** [personal profile] darnedchild after reading your prompt, my mind totally went towards a Sherlolly AU where Sherlock encounters a dangerous, but sexy Succubus called Molly. Oh course it would go there. LOL!)***”

We’re going AU, obviously. Aspects from the show up through “The Reichenbach Fall” will be included, but are not the main focus of the story so please forgive me for any liberties I’ve taken with the show canon. Currently unbeta'd because, once again, I'm running behind.

The fic summary belongs to [profile] mel_loves_all.
