Summary: It was a valid reason to have the small holiday gathering at Baker Street, Sherlock didn’t understand why Molly might find it objectionable. She’d been enthused about the party idea, even offering to help Mary figure out decorations, up until the moment John mentioned that they would be using Sherlock’s rooms.

His mind raced as he tried to deduce what could have possibly changed her mind in a span of seconds.

Oh.

Summary: Woman or sea creature - did it really matter? Molly was as mysterious and beautiful as she was vicious; her very existence a scientific improbability. From the moment he saw her, his fate was set, Sherlock would never let a mystery remain unsolved.

A/N - If the first scene of this fic looks a bit familiar, it’s because I also posted it as part of my Universally Monstrous series. Those fics are all one shots on the shorter side, and this thing… this thing sort of ballooned on me.

At one point I posted that I was trying to come up with a plot that didn’t sound like a ripoff of “The Shape of Water” for the Creature from the Black Lagoon fic, but then [personal profile] sunken_standard left me a comment that has stuck with me ever since – “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, though. Let Molly bang the fishman.”

Then I remembered a made-for-cable-tv movie from 2001 called “She Creature”. When you mix that, “The Shape of Water”, and some Molly and Sherlock …

This fic is dedicated to you, [personal profile] sunken_standard.

Does it count as bestiality if someone is a gillman/sea creature? I don’t want to google that so let’s just pretend it doesn’t.

Summary: As much as it pained her to admit, the reason Molly Hooper had been anticipating the current edition of The Strand was because of Doctor Watson’s latest venture in heavily embellished storytelling. Normally, she would hardly deign to give the tales of Holmes’ fantastical detective work a passing glance, but something about The Hound of the Baskervilles drew her interest.

A/N - I started the Universally Monstrous series during 2018’s Sherlolly Halloween, but I’ve only managed to finish six so far. Let’s see if I can get the other three done for 2020 Sherlolly Halloween.

I am aware that “The Hound of the Baskervilles” was originally serialized in The Strand Magazine in late 1901 to early 1902. TAB does mention “the dog one”, but it does it at the wrong point in the timeline for my needs. Basically, I want to use “The Hound of the Baskervilles” for my own nefarious purposes; so screw real life and show canon, I do what I want.

Ghost of Christmas Past )

Part 2

Summary: Sherlock's Other Life AU - “Sherlock. Sherlock, we’re here.” John’s sharp tone cut through the memory like a blade, and Sherlock’s eyes snapped open. No, that’s wrong. Not a memory.

A/N - Sherlolly Monthly Prompt for July - Sherlock's Other Life AU

Sherlock is having flash backs…but of what he is unsure. Images of himself as different, as someone else…as something else flash through his mind. He cannot reconcile the life that he lives with the life that he feels like he should be living. Primal urges keep springing up in the pit of his belly and he has to shove them down, move on, solve the next case. Two different pasts fight for control of his memories, making it impossible to know which to believe. After months of turmoil and personal destruction Sherlock comes to Molly knowing only one thing for certain - she is the only one he can trust.

While I’ve never watched “Sliding Doors”, I have read the IMDB plot summary and that’s practically the same thing, right? This fic is very, very, very loosely based on that plot summary (very). I’m also pulling dialogue directly from rewatching certain scenes of “The Reichenbach Fall” and transcripts compiled by Ariane DeVere (arianedevere on dreamwidth).

A/N - This was originally going to be a fic for the 2018 Sherlolly Halloween fest, but due to health reasons I wasn’t able to complete it in time. So, consider this an early start for the 2019 fest!

Not beta’d because I’m on a deadline. I’ll get it looked at later, promise. Probably.
