Arthur’s voice split the air, “Geeeeeet..........dressed, you Merry Gentlemen, let-“
“No!” Martin interrupted as vehemently as a small pilot on the flight deck—who didn’t want to disturb the pair of passengers who had made the unfortunate decision to choose MJN for their travel needs—could.
Arthur’s lower lip wibbled. “But Skip-“
“It’s God rest you, merry-” Martin cut himself off and shook his head. “No, I refuse to get drawn into this again this year.”
“What I find curious, Arthur,” Douglas drawled, “is why you’re doing this now? In July. I assume you are aware that we are in the middle of the summer.”
Arthur beamed. “Exactly.”
Douglas and Martin shared a look, silently daring the other to ask. Martin broke first. “I’m positive I’m going to regret this; but if you haven’t hit your head and forgotten that it’s not December, why the sudden burst of Yuletide spirit?”
“Because it’s Christmas in July! I just found out that we get two Christmases this year, isn’t that brilliant?” Arthur explained.
Martin shook his head. “That’s not what that means, Arthur.”
“But I’ve brought presents.”
“Oh, well, if there are presents, then by all means, let the boy proceed.”
“Douglas!”
