Summary: Fandom Christmas in July 2020 drabble: July 22 - prompt "Santa's naughty list"

Rating: T

A/N - One of thirty-one prompts for the thirty-one days of July. I plan to fill as many of them as I can with two hundred word drabbles.

Santa's Minions
23. Prompt – Santa’s naughty list
Fandom – Sherlock
Ship – Gen, Sherlock Holmes & Rosie Watson
Title – Santa’s Minions

“You can’t say that!” Rosie gasped, thoroughly scandalized.

Sherlock blanched as he realized just what word had slipped from his lips just moments before. “Shit.”

“You aren’t supposed to say that, either.” Rosie shook her head. “You’re going to go on Santa’s naughty list.”

“Not if we don’t tell him.”

She gasped again. “But Santa knows everything.”

“Surely not everything,” he tried to reason with her. “He can’t monitor all the children, all the time. He’s not the British government. Santa relies on greed and fear to convince children to be good for goodness sake.” Rosie looked as if she didn’t believe him. “That and a network of minions who act as informants.”

That she believed. She pointed to Sherlock’s cluttered wall of case information and photos (some of which were covered by large pieces of paper that said ‘For Rosie’s visits!’). “Like your tattle-tale people?”

“Exactly, my little Watson.”

She narrowed her eyes and considered him for a moment. “So, if none of Santa’s minions are here, and you don’t tell, and I don’t tell… Santa won’t know if I eat one of Granny Hudson’s biscuits before dinner.”

Sherlock wasn’t sure if he should be more worried or proud.
